Ben 10: Alien Swarm – Behind the Scenes VFX, Pre-Vis

by Kogitsune on Feb.11, 2010, under Uncategorized

While not necessarily Ryan news, it has been a while since the last update and I thought I’d give everyone something interesting to look at. These kinda came in under the radar until Nathan Keyes pointed them out on his Twitter. So credit goes to him for bringing them to my and everyone else’s attention. Enjoy!

Alien Swarm Giveaway!

by Kogitsune on Dec.04, 2009, under Uncategorized

‘Tis the season for giving and I’m in the spirit. To celebrate the holidays that fall in the month of December, and the recent release of Ben 10: Alien Swarm on DVD and Blu-ray, I’ve decided to hold another drawing. Ryan Kelley Online is giving away three copies of the Cartoon Network original movie on DVD. Keep reading to find out see how you can win!

All you need to do to enter this contest is to sign up for an account right here on http://ryankelleyonline.com and reply to this blog post with any number between 1-200. That’s it! I’ll take entries between now and Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 at 5pm Pacific (GMT -8) when this thing comes to an end.

I will then use a random number generator, like the handy one at http://www.random.org/ to select the winners. Those people will receive an email from me at the address they used to sign up for their RKOnline account. This is important: Sign up with an email address that you have access to and intend to check! If I can’t get a hold of you, I’m picking another number.

Now, no contest is complete without some rules, so here they are:

1) Choose only one (1) number. And after a number is chosen nobody else can pick it. The number goes to the first person to post it based on timestamps.

2) Don’t sign up for multiple accounts. I’ll know, and nobody likes a cheater.

3) This time the contest is open to US and Canadian residents only. My apologies to our overseas friends. These DVDs are region one, and this contest (and subsequent shipping) are out of pocket expenses paid by yours truly.

4) If you do win, what you’ll receive is an unopened, still in the plastic copy of Ben 10: Alien Swarm on DVD (region one). That’s one disc, the movie with There For Tomorrow’s – “A Little Faster” music video, a behind the scenes featurette, and nothing else.

Breaking the Breaking News.

by Kogitsune on Oct.27, 2009, under Uncategorized

You might remember back on October 10th a blog entry about the Ben’s 10 Awards. You might recall that same trip to London and overseas premier being mentioned again last week. If you do, good. I said I would fill you in when I got more info. More info came today in the form of a press release, which I’ll be quoting below. This is exciting news!

Cartoon Network Circles the Globe with Ben 10: Alien Swarm Premiere Events

Live-Action Movie Based on Hit Animated Franchise Has Broadcast Debut in United States on November 25 at 7 p.m.

Cartoon Network territories around the globe will join forces in a worldwide campaign surrounding the broadcast premiere of Ben 10: Alien Swarm. Throughout November, countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Poland, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Mexico, and the Philippines will host premiere events and screenings in 26 languages to support the global broadcast premiere of the latest television movie in the hugely popular Ben 10 franchise, which transcends borders with its global success in broadcast, digital and retail.

The Ben 10: Alien Swarm tour will kick off in London, England where cast members Ryan Kelley, Galadriel Stineman, Nathan Keyes and Alyssa Diaz will present Ben’s 10 Awards to 10 lucky kids. Fans will be able to follow the cast as they travel from London to Los Angeles through updates on the official Cartoon Network Facebook page and Twitter account, posting photos, text messages and video clips from each event. Bandai America Incorporated, the official toy licensee for Ben 10, will serve as the exclusive sponsor of the U.S. premiere in Los Angeles, California. These events around the world, combined with a comprehensive marketing campaign promise to make this the most extensive global launch in Cartoon Network history.

Ben 10: Alien Swarm is directed and executive-produced by Alex Winter, who also directed Cartoon Network’s first Ben 10 live-action movie, Ben 10: Race Against Time, which scored over 13 million viewers during its Thanksgiving weekend premiere in 2007. The new movie follows Ben as he breaks ranks from the Plumbers (a secret organization that battles alien forces) to help Elena, a mysterious young woman from his past, uncover an alien threat to our world.

Ryan Kelley (Prayers for Bobby) stars in the coveted role of 16-year-old Ben Tennyson, with industry veteran Barry Corbin (No Country for Old Men) starring as Grandpa Max. Galadriel Stineman (Junkyard Dog) is Gwen, Ben’s super-powered cousin, and Nathan Keyes plays Kevin Levin, who has joined Ben’s team for the good of the universe, but still seems to have a scheming side. Alyssa Diaz (Red Dawn) plays Elena, a long-time friend of Ben. Elena’s search for her father leads the group into an adventure to stop an alien threat from destroying the world.

The Ben 10 Alien Force animated television series currently premieres new episodes on Cartoon Network Friday nights at 8:30 p.m. (ET, PT) with replays throughout the week. Ben 10: Alien Swarm will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray Disc domestically in December through Warner Home Video.

Cartoon Network (CartoonNetwork.com), currently seen in more than 97 million U.S. homes and 166 countries around the world, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s ad-supported cable service now available in HD offering the best in original, acquired and classic animated entertainment for kids and families. Nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT), Cartoon Network shares its channel space with Adult Swim, a late-night destination showcasing original and acquired animation for young adults 18-34.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, creates and programs branded news, entertainment, animation and young adult media environments on television and other platforms for consumers around the world.

A Little Bit of History

by Kogitsune on Oct.22, 2009, under Uncategorized

This will be an off-topic update, as it were. There’s still plenty going on, including the contest that ends tomorrow! But I wanted to take a moment away from the torrent of Ryan news to talk about some history.

October 26, this coming Monday, marks the end of Geocities hosting, at least, their free hosting. For many, this doesn’t mean much as I’m sure we’ve all moved beyond it years ago. But that is part of the point of what I’m getting to. There is one site over there, a relic of days gone by, yet it is still in some way responsible for the page you’re reading now.

Our First Contest! A Still Green Giveaway!

by Kogitsune on Oct.15, 2009, under Uncategorized

Update Oct. 22 3:07 PM (GMT-8): Big news! I can’t stand to see just one winner, so I’m going to sweeten the deal. Not to mention I just got some cool swag in the mail, so I just HAVE to share it with you guys. I understand that there’s only a day left until the contest ends, but consider this an added bonus for those of you that did enter on time.

I’ll be drawing three numbers tomorrow instead of one. Because that’s the new number of prizes I have to give away. The first winner will still receive the DVD, while the second and third winners will each receive an autographed (!!!) copy of the Still Green soundtrack! Good luck!

As I said in my previous post, free is my favorite price. Free is all it’s going to cost you to get your hands on your very own copy of Still Green on DVD. That’s zilch, zip, nada, zero… if you’re lucky! There’s only going to be one winner this time around as I test the waters. But expect more giveaways in the future. Enough about that, here’s how to play!

All you need to do to enter this contest is to sign up for an account right here on http://ryankelleyonline.com and reply to this blog post with any number between 1-200. That’s it! I’ll take entries between now and Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at 5pm Pacific (GMT -8) when this thing comes to an end.

I will then use a random number generator, like the handy one at http://www.random.org/ to select the winner. That person will receive an email from me at the address they used to sign up for their RKOnline account. This is important: Sign up with an email address that you have access to and intend to check! If I can’t get a hold of you, I’m picking another number.

Now, no contest is complete without some rules and a few added twists, so here they are:

1) Choose only one (1) number. And after a number is chosen nobody else can pick it. The number goes to the first person to post it based on timestamps.

2) Don’t sign up for multiple accounts. I’ll know, and nobody likes a cheater.

3) If you do win, what you’ll receive is an unopened, still in the plastic copy of Still Green on DVD (region free). That’s two discs, the movie and special features, and nothing else.

And now for that advertised twist:

If you can’t tell by now, the point of this contest is to get the word out about Ryan Kelley Online, and more importantly Ryan himself. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your dog. Tell Ryan fans, and tell people that have never seen his work. A free DVD would provide an excellent chance to get to know his talent.

For an added bonus. If you were referred to this site by someone else already here, mention it in your post and that person will get to pick an additional number! (Up to 3 total numbers max.) Sounds like a great way to increase your chances of winning, right? Excellent!

So, get to posting, get other people posting. I hope to have a winner and a truly great contest. Best of luck to everyone!

On the Red Carpet

by Kogitsune on Sep.25, 2009, under Uncategorized

This one almost slipped past me. Tricksy interviews. Just Ryan on the red carpet at the Emmys a few days back, talking about Prayers for Bobby and it’s nomination. Sounds like there’s going to be a DVD release. I’ll keep an eye out for any more news pertaining to that.
